Baseball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Barrington's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

The Barrington Fillies/Broncos sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Loyola Academy Ramblers on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Fillies/Broncos have won by exactly two runs.

Barrington got a great performance from Kayden Schumaker as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

At the plate, Barrington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Roberts, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Aiden Gryzlo was another, scoring two runs while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Barrington has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season. As for Loyola Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barrington will host Schaumburg at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Loyola Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Providence Catholic at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. The Celtics' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Ramblers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
