Basketball Recap: Gilman Comes Up Short

Gilman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 59-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Cougars are ranked tenth).

Gilman's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Our Lady of Mount Carmel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gilman will face off against Boys Latin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Our Lady of Mount Carmel, they will take on McDonogh at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Our Lady of Mount Carmel is coming into the game hot, having won their last 11 games.
