Softball Recap: North Murray Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

North Murray had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Southeast Whitfield County Raiders by a score of 7-2.

Chanley Langham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Malone, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylie Corbin, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

North Murray now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Southeast Whitfield County, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Murray will face off against Coahulla Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Southeast Whitfield County, they will challenge Hiram at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
