Softball Recap: Del Valle Continues Home Dominance on Friday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Del Valle had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Burges Mustangs. The win continues a trend for the Conquistadores in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

Remi Barron made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Briyana Medina, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Yallena Morgan was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Del Valle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 16-1-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Del Valle pushed their record up to 22-11-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Burges, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-17.

Del Valle will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
