Softball Recap: Momence Comes Up Short

Momence lost against Watseka back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Momence Athletics fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Momence Athletics have lost by just one run.

Alexis Cook made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Brooklyn Moeller was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

This is the second loss in a row for Momence and nudges their season record down to 1-18. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Watseka, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Momence nor Watseka have any future games scheduled.
