Softball Recap: Olympian's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to 13

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Olympian had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They never let Southwest EC get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but Olympian sure is getting used to it with their 13th in a row.

Southwest EC's batters probably weren't too happy with Alexandra Perez, who pitched a no hitter (she gave up two walks). Perez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacqui De Murguia, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since May 7th. Another player making a difference was Kailynn Robeson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Olympian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Olympian's win bumped their record up to 19-12-1. As for Southwest EC, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-9.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Olympian will face off against West Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Eagles have won six straight at home, while the Wildcats won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Southwest EC, they will square off against St. Bonaventure at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Seraphs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
