Softball Game Preview: Slaughter Community Charter Knights vs. Livonia Wildcats

Slaughter Community Charter and Livonia are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Knights will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Slaughter Community Charter has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Livonia will arrive with three straight wins.

Slaughter Community Charter saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Brister, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Brister has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Meanwhile, Livonia got the win against Port Allen on Friday by a conclusive 18-3. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Livonia's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-11. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.4 runs over those games. As for Slaughter Community Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Slaughter Community Charter took their victory against Livonia when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 23-14 score. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
