Basketball Recap: Brainerd Comes Up Short

Brainerd suffered their closest loss since January 13, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Sequatchie County Indians by a score of 44-42. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Beckham McKendrick was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds for Sequatchie County. That makes it four consecutive games in which McKendrick has scored at least a third of Sequatchie County's points. Another player making a difference was Harrison Smith, who posted ten points and five boards.

Brainerd's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Sequatchie County, their victory bumped their record up to 13-14.

Brainerd does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sequatchie County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-50 defeat against Marion County on the 20th.
