Alcoa came tearing into Friday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Roane County Yellowjackets a 5-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Tornadoes: when they faced off against the Yellowjackets two weeks ago, they had to take a 14-6 loss.

Not much got past Bleau Kennedy, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Roane County off the board. Kennedy has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kyler Clark, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eli Graf, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Alcoa hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roane County struck out nine times.

Alcoa's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Roane County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-8-1.

Looking ahead, Alcoa will square off against William Blount at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Roane County, they will face off against Tellico Plains at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
