Baseball Game Preview: Oak Ridge Trojans vs. Del Oro Golden Eagles

The Oak Ridge Trojans will square off against the Del Oro Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Ridge hasn't scored more than two runs for six games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

On Tuesday, Oak Ridge came up short against Whitney and fell 4-1. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by exactly three runs.

Meanwhile, Del Oro fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Davis Sr. on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 5-4.

Del Oro got a good showing from Beckett Crow, who tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Crow has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Will Stark was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kael Lumbert, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Del Oro's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Oak Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Oak Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Del Oro in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
