American Christian School gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-38 victory over the Gloucester County Christian Conquerors. This was payback for American Christian School, who suffered a 62-32 defeat the last time these two teams met.

American Christian School found their leader in sophomore Holly Cilento, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gianna Enemuo, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards.

Gloucester County Christian now has a losing record of 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. American Christian School is set to challenge their familiar foe Veritas Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Gloucester County Christian will take on rival Calvary Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
