Softball Preview: Bernalillo Spartans vs. West Las Vegas Dons        
        
		
            Bernalillo has gone 8-1 against West Las Vegas recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Monday. The Spartans will look to defend their home field  against the Dons  at 3:00  p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bernalillo has three straight  wins, West Las Vegas has three straight  defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bernalillo is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have   all season. Everything went their way against Hope Christian on Friday as they made off with  a  21-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won eight contests by nine  runs or more  so far this season.

 Calandria Montoya was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   six  hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances with four  runs and two  stolen bases. That's the most  stolen bases  she has posted since back in March.
 In other batting news, Bernalillo let  Kylee Herrera and  Bella Perez run wild. Herrera  got on base  in all five of her plate appearances with one  home run, five  RBI,  and three  runs, while  Perez  went a perfect 4-for-4 with four  runs, two  stolen bases,  and two  doubles. Those  two  stolen bases gave  Perez a new career-high.  Gabby Tafoya was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base.
 Bernalillo  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .675. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hope Christian only posted  an  OBP of  .348.
 Meanwhile, West Las Vegas didn't have quite enough to beat Robertson on Tuesday and fell  2-1.
 Bernalillo now  has a winning record of 11-10. As for West Las Vegas, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
