Basketball Game Preview: Hoover Vikings vs. Barberton Magics

The Hoover Vikings will face off against the Barberton Magics at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Hoover is headed into Sunday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They fell 69-61 to Jackson on Friday.

Meanwhile, Barberton posted their closest win since February 21, 2024 on Friday. They skirted past Copley 64-62.

Barberton's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Hoover was able to grind out a solid win over Barberton in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 55-47. Will Hoover repeat their success, or does Barberton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
