Volleyball Recap: Westside Takes a Loss

Westside had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 3-5 to make it seven. They fell 2-0 to the Mary Persons Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 two weeks ago.

As for Mary Persons, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7 Peach County and 3-5 Westside.

Mary Persons found their leader in sophomore Kourtney Harrington, who had seven aces and four digs. Those seven aces set a new season-high mark for Harrington.

Westside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Peach County on the 19th. As for Mary Persons, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Stratford Academy on the 19th.
