Softball Recap: Columbia Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against Spring Hill last Tuesday, Columbia Central came back down to earth. The Lions fell 4-0 to the Coffee County Central Red Raiders on Thursday. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Red Raiders from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Bailey Lovell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Columbia Central's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Coffee County Central, their win bumped their record up to 17-9.

Looking ahead, Columbia Central will host Independence at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Coffee County Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Warren County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
