Basketball Game Preview: Greenforest Eagles vs. McNair Mustangs

The Greenforest Eagles will square off against the McNair Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Greenforest's favor as the team sits on 13 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while McNair has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.

Last Tuesday, Greenforest humbled Utopian Academy for the Arts with a 69-7 victory. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 50 points per game.

Andela Mirkovic had an outrageously good game as she went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc on her way to 24 points. Those 24 points gave her a new career-high. Marianah Achol was another key player, going 6 for 11 en route to 15 points.

Meanwhile, McNair lost to Jasper County on the road by a 56-38 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while the Hurricanes are ranked 224th).

McNair's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Greenforest, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
