Canutillo has gone 8-2 against Jefferson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will take on the Silver Foxes at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Canutillo has five straight victories, Jefferson has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Canutillo took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Chapin, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 win over the Huskies on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since February 27th.

Canutillo let Isabella Salazar and Khloe Borjas run wild. Salazar went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double, while Borjas scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave Borjas a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zoe Borjas, who scored four runs while going 3-for-3.
Canutillo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in nine consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Jefferson lost 17-5 to El Paso on Friday.
Emma Gonzalez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.
Canutillo pushed their record up to 17-9-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 12-17.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Canutillo has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Jefferson struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Canutillo's way against Jefferson in their previous meeting back in March, as Canutillo made off with an 11-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
