It was a good run, but East Jackson unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to the Michigan Center Cardinals 45-41. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Cardinals are ranked 84th).

East Jackson's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Michigan Center, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Jackson will square off against Grass Lake at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for Michigan Center, they will challenge Columbia Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Columbia Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Michigan Center likes a good challenge.
