Jasper County extended their winning streak to nine on Friday, bumping them up to 9-0. They strolled past the Putnam County War Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 28-10. For the Hurricanes, this counts as revenge for the 21-14 win the War Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

JaMarkus Thomas threw for 56 yards on seven of ten attempts. On the ground, Tyrin Epps rushed for 133 yards and four TDs on only 13 carries.

As for Putnam County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Putnam County still got an impressive performance from Branan Griffin, who rushed for 78 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and also threw for 121 yards while completing 76.5% of his passes.

Coming up, Jasper County will face off against Lamar County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Hurricanes 11.6, the Trojans 10.7) so any points scored will be well earned. Putnam County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
