Basketball Recap: Northland Pines Takes a Loss

Northland Pines lost against Lakeland back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Northland Pines Eagles fell to the Lakeland Thunderbirds 51-46. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 300th).

This is the second loss in a row for Northland Pines and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Lakeland, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5.

Northland Pines will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Sparta at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeland, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Oneida Nation at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
