Recap: Pennsauken Indians vs. Holy Cross Lancers
There's no place like home for the Pennsauken Indians, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Wednesday. They snuck past Holy Cross with a 51-46 win on Thursday. For Pennsauken, this counts as revenge for the 54-34 loss Holy Cross walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Despite the loss, Holy Cross still got an impressive performance from Emmanuel Doku, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 18 rebounds. Doku scored a full 56.5% of Holy Cross' points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Samir Wellington was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Pennsauken's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Holy Cross, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Pennsauken will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against KIPP Cooper Norcross at 1:00 p.m. on December 30th. Holy Cross will finish 2023 at home by hosting Varsity Opponent at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
