Basketball Recap: O'connor Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

O'Connor won the last time they faced Holmes, and Casey Chavez did her part to make sure it happened again. The O'Connor Panthers blew past the Holmes Huskies 52-31 on Tuesday thanks in part to Chavez, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards. Her evening made it 13 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Holmes lost, don't look at Darlene Doboyou. Despite the final result, she went 7 for 15 on her way to 17 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Doboyou has posted since back in November of 2024.

O'Connor is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points per game. As for Holmes, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-16.

O'Connor will face off against Stevens at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holmes, they will square off against Marshall at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Holmes is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.4 points per game this season.
