Baseball Recap: Horizon Honors Triumphs

Horizon Honors hadn't done well against Phoenix Christian recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Eagles came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 6-3. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 8-2 win the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Horizon Honors' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gus Minor, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Max Miller also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The win got Horizon Honors back to even at 2-2. As for Phoenix Christian, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coincidentally, Horizon Honors and Phoenix Christian will both be playing Scottsdale Preparatory Academy the next time they take the field. The Cougars will head out to face the Spartans at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, while the Eagles will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
