Softball Recap: Northridge Takes a Loss

Northridge dropped their record down to 10-6 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Elkhart Lions, falling 12-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.

Northridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Halle Moeller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

As for Elkhart, they moved to 9-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the match before.

On Elkhart's side, Laci Stimac made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Stimac has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Elkhart let Ambria Leedy and Bailey Harris-Rogers run wild. Leedy went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Harris-Rogers went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most runs Leedy has posted since back in April. Shay Kidder also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Coincidentally, Northridge and Elkhart will both be playing Fort Wayne Northrop the next time they take the field. The Raiders will head out to face the Bruins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
