West Holt extends home winning streak to five

Recap: West Holt Huskies vs. St. Mary's Cardinals

The West Holt Huskies entered their tilt with the St. Mary's Cardinals with 11 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 12. West Holt enjoyed a cozy 66-52 victory over St. Mary's on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for West Holt, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

West Holt's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lincoln Konrad, who dropped a triple-double on ten points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists. Another player making a difference was Zach Hooey, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Brabec, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Ben Barlow was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

West Holt's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for St. Mary's, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-6.

West Holt will head out on the road to challenge Guardian Angels Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Mary's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Elgin/Pope John at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Mary's focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Thursday.
