Baseball Recap: Higley Has No Trouble Against Wellington

Higley was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Wellington on Saturday. Higley put the hurt on Wellington with a sharp 12-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their two-run performance the game before.

Fernando Alonzo looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Jordan Heraldez was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jack Babcock, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Higley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Higley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.
