Preview: Warner Christian Academy Eagles vs. Crooms Academy Panthers
The Warner Christian Academy Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Crooms Academy Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Warner Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Monday.
Warner Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They walked away with an 89-76 victory over First Baptist Christian Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Warner Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian Nicholas led the charge by dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nicholas has scored all season. Ashton Flores was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Crooms Academy was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 39-38 to Elite Prep Academy.
The win got Warner Christian Academy back to even at 8-8. As for Crooms Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Warner Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 56-36 loss they got from Crooms Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Warner Christian Academy was down 49-14.
