Basketball Recap: Booker Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Mackenzie Mcfarland and Zulema Ruiz

Booker was the 30-29 winner over Kelton when they last played one another on January 10th, but their luck changed this time around. The Booker Kiowas took a hard 46-27 fall against the Kelton Lions on Tuesday.

Booker's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Zulema Ruiz, who posted ten points and six rebounds, and Mackenzie Mcfarland, who had six points and five boards. That's the most points Ruiz has posted since back in November of 2024.

Booker's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Kelton, they moved to 5-11 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Booker will head out to square off against Fort Elliott at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Elliott will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Booker surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kelton, they will venture away from home to face off against Darrouzett at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kelton is facing Darrouzett at the right time seeing as Darrouzett is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
