Central of Clay County picks up fourth straight win at home

Recap: Central of Clay County Volunteers vs. Sylacauga Aggies

The Central of Clay County Volunteers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 62-55 win over Sylacauga. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Sylacauga's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Cj Franklin, who scored 14 points along with seven assists, and Revish Bardwell who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Erick Oneal, who scored eight points.

Central of Clay County's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Sylacauga, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central of Clay County will face off against Horseshoe Bend at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sylacauga, they will head out on the road to face off against Jemison at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
