Volleyball Recap: Monrovia Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Monrovia had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt North Putnam on Monday. The Bulldogs blew past the Cougars 3-0. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Monrovia never let North Putnam on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17, 25-22.

Derby P. Gilkerson paced Monrovia's offense, picking up 20 kills. Gilkerson got some help from Maddox Miller and his 29 assists. Gilkerson was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Monrovia's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for North Putnam, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Monrovia has already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Franklin Community on the 9th. As for North Putnam, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Tri-West Hendricks on the 10th.
