Basketball Recap: Carpinteria Comes Up Short

Carpinteria lost against Channel Islands back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Carpinteria Warriors fell 68-58 to the Channel Islands Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 645th, while the Raiders are ranked 319th).

Channel Islands' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chris Anguiano, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nazir Ivey, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Carpinteria now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Channel Islands, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Carpinteria wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 81-78 loss against Cate on the 12th. As for Channel Islands, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-52 win against Fillmore on the 13th.
