Soccer Recap: Escondido Charter Comes Up Short

After soaring to four goals the game before, Escondido Charter was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against the Pacific Ridge Firebirds, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while the Firebirds are ranked 69th).

Escondido Charter's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Pacific Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

Looking ahead, Escondido Charter will be playing at home against Orange Glen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pacific Ridge, they are taking a road trip to square off against La Jolla Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Pacific Ridge's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last four games.
