With a playoff win on the line, Florida State University High School rose to the challenge on Monday. They snuck past the Newberry Panthers with a 56-51 victory. The win was nothing new for the Seminoles as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Florida State University High School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Iyran Francis, who posted nine points and six rebounds. What's more, Francis posted three assists, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Trey Card was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Despite the loss, Newberry had strong showings from Collin Dunnmore, who had 14 points and three steals, and Juwan Scippio, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Woods, who earned six points.

Florida State University High School's victory bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Newberry, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 24-1.

Florida State University High School has already played their next matchup, a 61-52 loss against Andrew Jackson on the 20th. Newberry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
