Basketball Game Preview: Edinburg/South Fork Ponies vs. Litchfield Purple Panthers

The Edinburg/South Fork Ponies will venture away from home to square off against the Litchfield Purple Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Edinburg/South Fork will be strutting in after a win while Litchfield will be coming in after a defeat.

On Monday, Edinburg/South Fork earned a 48-35 victory over Riverton. The Ponies pushed the score to 42-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hawks cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Litchfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 58-44 bruising from Hillsboro. While losing is never fun, the Purple Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 454th, while the Hiltoppers are ranked 211th).

Litchfield's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Edinburg/South Fork, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
