Volleyball Recap: Thornwell Gets the Win

Thornwell won the last time they faced McCormick and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Saints walked away with a 3-1 win over the Chiefs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Saints.

In the three sets Thornwell was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-15, 19-25, 25-7.

Thornwell can attribute much of their success to Madilynn Porter, who had six aces and five digs. That's the most aces Porter has posted over her last three contests.

Porter wasn't the only good server: Thornwell was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 24 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matches.

Thornwell's record now sits at 9-7. As for McCormick, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Thornwell will take on rival Calhoun Falls Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, McCormick is set to face off against their familiar foe GREEN Upstate at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
