Volleyball Recap: Davis Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Davis hadn't done well against Syracuse recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Darts blew past the Titans 3-0. This was a revenge game for the Darts: when they faced off against the Titans on April 8th, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

One reason for the win was Davis' just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16, 25-14.

Luke McKnight paced Davis' offense, picking up 17 kills. McKnight got some help from Jack Bennett and his 18 assists. Bennett was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Davis has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Syracuse, they moved to 19-5 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Coming up, Davis will take on Bingham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Syracuse, they will challenge Layton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans are facing the Lancers at the right time seeing as the Lancers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
