Basketball Game Preview: Conifer Lobos vs. Littleton Lions

Conifer is 0-9 against Littleton since January of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Conifer Lobos will square off against the Littleton Lions at 6:30 p.m. Conifer's defense has only allowed 24.3 points per game this season, so Littleton's offense will have their work cut out for them.

While Conifer didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 42-35 victory over Alameda last Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lobos.

Meanwhile, Littleton came into Friday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Westminster by a score of 53-46 on Friday.

Conifer better keep an eye on Emma Bird. She was instrumental in Littleton's win, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance gave Bird a new career-high in rebounds. Vicky Whitney was another key player, putting up ten points and seven boards.

Conifer is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Littleton, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Conifer was dealt a bruising 61-21 defeat at the hands of Littleton when the teams last played back in January of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Conifer was down 56-7.
