Volleyball Recap: Nease Panthers vs. Ridgeview Panthers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop Kenny, Nease was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Ridgeview Panthers by a score of 3-1. The victory was some much needed relief for Nease as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.
The final score came out to 25-20, 21-25, 25-15, 27-25.
Nease was led to victory by Keerstin Brady and Isabella Hayes. Brady had 24 digs, while Hayes had ten digs and three aces. That's the most aces Hayes has posted since back in September of 2023.
Nease was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're ace total in three consecutive matches.
Payton Cannon and Alyssa Herringdine certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Cannon had eight digs and five aces, while Herringdine had 19 digs. Cannon is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted ten or more in the last 24 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Emily McCrea, who had six digs and 11 assists.
Nease's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Ridgeview, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Nease didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory vs. Menendez on the 10th. As for Ridgeview, they will face off against Beachside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
