Recap: King Panthers vs. Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes
The King Panthers and the Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the King Panthers had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Hurricanes by a score of 31-28. King's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
King's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Vincent Jones, who picked up 132 receiving yards and a touchdown. K'mard Kimble was another key contributor, rushing for 33 yards and two touchdowns.
King's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Fort Bend Hightower, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
King does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fort Bend Hightower will face off against Summer Creek at 2:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Summer Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 215 points over their last five games.
