Basketball Recap: Osborne Falls Short of Quinter in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Osborne couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against Quinter on Friday, falling 60-39. While losing is never fun, Osborne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Quinter is ranked 19th).

Quinter found their leader in freshman Braelyn Blackwill, who went 6-for-7 to rack up 16 points along with seven steals and six boards. Thanks to that strong game, Blackwill now owns an excellent 46% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Bryn Gillespie, who shot 45% from the field on her way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Osborne moved to 16-6 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.1 points. As for Quinter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

Osborne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Quinter, they will face off against South Gray at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Quinter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season.
