Basketball Recap: Chan Thomas Key Part of a Team Effort in Red Rams Win

Franklinton's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 63-46 win over the Rocky Mount Gryphons. This was a revenge game for the Red Rams: when they faced off against the Gryphons back in January, they had to take a 65-62 loss.

Franklinton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chan Thomas, who posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Thomas a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Jamel Tabron, who earned eight points and six boards.

When it comes to explaining why Rocky Mount lost, don't look at Anthony Jones. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds. Jones is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last 24 games he's played dating back to last season. Semaj Parker was another key player, putting up ten points and seven boards.

Franklinton's record now sits at 10-13. As for Rocky Mount, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklinton will challenge Southern Nash at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rocky Mount, they will take on Northern Nash at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northern Nash will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Rocky Mount surely won't give up without a fight.
