Softball Recap: Bremen Braves vs. Lemont Lemont HS
Bremen extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 8-14 in the process. They came up short against the Lemont Lemont HS, falling 15-0. That's two games in a row now that the Braves have lost by exactly 15 runs.
As for Lemont, their record now sits at 15-7. The result was nothing new for the Lemont HS, who have now won 14 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
For Lemont's part, Claire Podrebarac made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, Podrebarac posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Lemont let Emma Barrett and Natalie Pacyga run wild. Barrett got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Pacyga went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that Pacyga has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Pontrelli, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, Lemont is set to challenge their familiar foe Argo at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lemont HS 3.5, the Argonauts 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
