The biggest upset of the week belonged to Pope John XXIII, who took down 413th ranked Fort Bend Christian Academy, 13-7.

Northland Christian extended the longest winning streak in TAPPS Division II District 4 this week by beating Lutheran North, 83-12. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Cougars.

The Lions' dynamic duo of Nelson Gunnell and Brandon Slater proved tough for Northland Christian to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gunnell threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns and Slater had 69 yards receiving. Cameron Burkett helped Lutheran North's passing attack out by catching four balls for 59 yards.

Carter Odenweller was the most productive running back in the league this week. In six carries, he ran for 121 yards as David Nelson's team fell to David Nelson's team. Teammate Tyler Huff added to the ground attack by rushing for 56 yards.

Thump Phillips' team's Gunnell and Slater have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Gunnell has thrown for 1610 yards this season, while Slater, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 41 catches for 644 yards. The Cougars' Odenweller leads the league in rushing yards with 969.

Odenweller of the Northland Christian is only 31 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.

A big matchup in TAPPS Division II District 4 this week will be when Second Baptist takes on Westbury Christian. As it stands, the Fighting Eagles are in third, while the Wildcats are in second.

Pope John XXIII moved up to 611 from 679 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Scot Mills' team was able to make move up by beating the Eagles 13-7.
