Softball Game Preview: Austintown-Fitch Falcons vs. Riverside Beavers

The Austintown-Fitch Falcons will face off against the Riverside Beavers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Austintown-Fitch comes in on six and Riverside on 17.

Last Wednesday, Austintown-Fitch was able to grind out a solid victory over Howland, taking the game 7-4.

Kaliana Ray was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Morgan Roby was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Riverside came out on top against South on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run sixth inning. The Beavers put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 16-1 win. Considering the Beavers have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Austintown-Fitch pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Riverside, their victory bumped their record up to 18-2.

Everything went Austintown-Fitch's way against Riverside in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Austintown-Fitch made off with an 8-1 win. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Beavers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
