Basketball Recap: Gilmer Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Gilmer came into Saturday's game having lost 15 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Rivercrest Rebels by a score of 55-45 on Saturday.

Rivercrest lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Avery Ward, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Diana Kelley, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 10 points and five steals.

Gilmer's win bumped their record up to 2-15. As for Rivercrest, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-18.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilmer will host Henderson at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Rivercrest, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Campbell at 12:00 p.m. Rivercrest is facing Campbell at the right time seeing as Campbell is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
