Baseball Recap: Berwick Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bourgeois last Saturday, Berwick came back down to earth. The Berwick Panthers came up short against the Teurlings Catholic Rebels on Monday, falling 10-2. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost three in a row.

Berwick's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Teurlings Catholic, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Looking ahead, Berwick will take on University Lab at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. University Lab's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Berwick's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Teurlings Catholic, they will face off against Live Oak at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Teurlings Catholic: 3.1, Live Oak: 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
