Baseball Recap: Shadow Creek Find Success

Shadow Creek's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Manvel Mavericks. The Sharks haven't had any issues with the Mavericks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Kaiden Shelton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. Shadow Creek is 4-2 when Shelton allows one or fewer earned runs, but 1-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Lubin Rincon was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted over his last 12 matchups. Another player making a difference was Demari Faggins, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Shadow Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manvel only posted an OBP of .286.

Shadow Creek's record is now 5-8. As for Manvel, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Mavericks beat Shadow Creek by a score of 9-5 on Friday.
