Baseball Game Preview: Bigelow Panthers vs. Wonderview Daredevils

Bigelow is 0-3 against Wonderview since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Bigelow Panthers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Wonderview Daredevils at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Bigelow is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carlisle on Monday.

Bigelow got a good showing from Braeden Winningham, who struck out six batters over one inning while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs but no hits.

At the plate, Bigelow saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arturo Cabrera, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Wonderview unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Mountainburg on Tuesday, falling 10-0.

Bigelow couldn't quite finish off Wonderview in their previous matchup back in March of 2020 and fell 4-2. Can Bigelow avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
