Baseball Recap: Poly Prep Country Day Extends Home Winning Streak to 11

Poly Prep Country Day won the last time they faced Brunswick School and things went their way on Monday too. The Blue Devils sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Bruins. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

David Hinojosa tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Poly Prep Country Day pushed their record up to 6-7 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Brunswick School, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poly Prep Country Day will challenge Phillips Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Brunswick School, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Greens Farms Academy at 4:15 p.m.
