Basketball Game Preview: Monticello Buckaroo vs. Valley Buffalos

The Monticello Buckaroo will head out to challenge the Valley Buffalos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Monticello took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Whitehorse by a score of 45-38. The score was all tied up 20-20 at the break, but the Buckaroo were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 62-51 victory over the Thunderbirds.

The win got Valley back to even at 9-9. As for Monticello, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Monticello might still be hurting after the 65-42 loss they got from Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can the Buckaroo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
